THINK IMPRESSIVE
THINK LIGHT
Abstract
New exhibition space for the Biennale of Venice
The project wants the visiting the exhibition people to feel curious along the way due to the effects of lights and shadows created by long and narrow slits. They illuminate a sequence of spaces that are different from each other.
To create this space, the cube 9 by 9 by 9 meters is ideally made using some actions.
The first action is fragmenting the cube in three parts, creating long and thin light clefts. The second action is dividing the internal space into vertical and horizontal, to create a sequence of different volumes. To create the openings to the internal volume of the cube, the parts are cut of these spaces. The entrance to the exhibition space should be defined by moving part of the wall toward inside of the cube. In conclusion, the remaining volumes are carved to make a space for one of the largest trees on the site.
